Bio

Mikayla Rosenthal, better known by her stage name Ezliyah (pronounced ez-lee-yuh) is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based out of Houston, Texas. Her ethereal singer-songwriter sound is captured through intimate storytelling of self-love and discovery. Ezliyah’s background in classical and contemporary music comes through in her folk infused playing, rich soulful vocals, and introspective lyrics that bare resemblance to artist like Madison Cunningham, Haley Heynderickx, & Adrianne Lenker.

Growing up on classic soul and r&b from her parents, studying piano, classical voice,  and being a curious pre-teen during the 2010s pop culture phenomenon helped to shape Ezliyah's musical influences. Opera eventually lead her to studying at the prestigious classical conservatory Mannes School of Music at The New School in NYC. While in New York Ezliyah’s focus started to shift and her love for contemporary music held deep. In 2018 she left the classical world behind and transfered to Berklee College of Music on scholarship. During her time at Berklee she picked up guitar, found her indentity within songwriting, and a newly inspired sound from indie folk/rock artists of today.

Already having released her debut 2021 single, "Your Raised Me To" and gaining recognition from fellow artists Paula Cole, Willow Smith, and Adrianne Lenker. Ezliyah is well on her way to attracting audiences across generations with her contemporary sound and timeless voice.

Ezliyah’s debut EP Waitful Meeting released on June 19th of this year.
